Planted in 1981, our old-vine dry Rieslings have been among Idaho’s most
successful and acclaimed white wines year after year. Originally inspired
by Dr. Ron Bitner’s frequent travels to Australia during the 1990s, these
wines reflect our region’s distinctive style, characterized by bright acidity
and minerality.

White Blend

“High Desert Vines” are grown and produced in the “Sunny Slope” Region in
the western Snake River appellation of Idaho by Bitner Vineyards. The hot
summer days combined with cool evenings result in long hang times, contributing to fruit-forward wines. This wine is simply structured and showcases the fruit and balanced acidity of the grapes from this high desert climate.


High Desert White

From our estates vineyard planted in 1981, this old vine Late Harvest
Riesling is our first vintage in eight years. The result of meticulous farming, Snake River Valley soils, cool-weather climate, and hand-harvesting at peak ripeness; allows us to produce the best flavors in Late Harvest Riesling wines.

Fortified

This fortified Syrah is barrel-aged for ten years in French oak. Each barrel is named after Ron and Mary Bitner's Grandchildren. This special vintage is the 5th oldest grandchild, Jordan Daeus.

The bitter winter of 2017 was devastating to Idaho vineyards, leading to greatly reduced harvests. This Terrosa is the only red wine we produced from that vintage. The silver lining for wine lovers is the lower yields produced fruit with intensely concentrated flavor and complexity. Delicious now, those patient enough to lay down a few bottles will be amply rewarded.

Dr. Ron Bitner manages Rose Cottage Vineyard—an additional 55-acre
vineyard that includes this Chardonnay block planted in 1981. With minimal spray applications, Rose Cottage Vineyard is tended to by hand and with the same love applied to our estate vineyards. For forty years, this vineyard has produced clean, beautiful fruit. 

Our Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard was planted in 1999. Lower-than-average yields in this vineyard produce rich, concentrated fruit that is harvested by hand when it reaches optimal ripeness. Aged for 3 years in finely grained French oak barrels, this Cabernet Sauvignon expresses the very best pairing of sustainable farming and winemaking dedication.

Each vine loved and cared for by the man who genuinely loves the beauty, earth and all that Idaho provides. His goal was to harvest a grape as natural and unique as the earth of the Sunnyslope region with the background of the untouched beauty of the Owyhee mountains. An extremely unique and special wine for Idaho; we are blessed to share with you.

Tempranillo Erlexte - "erle" is bee and "exte" is house. Put those together for the bee hive, or where the bees live: Erletxe. Pronounced "air" and the "leche" (just like milk in Spanish).

The warm, sunny climate of our Snake River Valley vineyard delivers a gorgeous, deep purple wine with smooth, well-integrated tannins and medium acidity. 


Syrah Blend

At Bitner Vineyards, our passion for wine is matched only by our love of the land from which it springs. We named this wine Mi Tierra ("my earth") in tribute to its unique heritage -- the terroir of the Snake River Valley. Produced only in exceptional years, we select the best fruit from our estate vineyards, again the wine in new French oak barrels for over three years. -Taste the Difference
